The third edition of Connected Smart Cities brought together the most important organizations to discuss the development of increasingly smart cities. The event, which took place on June 21 and 22, 2017, had 180 speakers to discuss the thematic axes: Prosperous Cities; Human, Resilient and Inclusive Cities; Government Projects to Support Smart Cities; Sustainable Urban Planning in Cities; Mobility and Accessibility in Cities; Connected Cities; Entrepreneurial Cities.

The event was held at the Frei Caneca Convention Center in the city of São Paulo and had 1629 participants during the two days of realization. The program had 32 panels divided into 4 simultaneous stages in the Forum, using “silent speaker” technology, a technology that transmits the audio directly to the participant’s headphones. In addition, the event provided a unique environment for two workshops and an Arena Space, which were responsible for 13 activities and 38 speakers.

The opening ceremony, held in the morning of the 21st, received a number of authorities and city halls to receive awards from cities with the best rankings in the Connected Smart Cities Ranking 2017 and presented the indicators used to carry out the study. In addition, the event provided the Business Roundtable, which had 245 meetings, active participation of 17 public entities and more than 40 companies and organizations.

That being said, it is important to highlight the success of the Connected Smart Cities in 2017: the event was essential for public and private entities to work together to develop, in the current political and economic context, increasingly intelligent and connected cities.
