Connected Smart Cities, Brazil’s most important smart cities platform, will be held on September 17 and 18, 2019 in São Paulo. In its 5th edition, the event will present new trends for the development of smart cities in the country and will feature new technologies, such as experiences in virtual reality.

The capital of São Paulo will host, for the 5th consecutive year, the most important event of smart cities in the country and one of the largest in Latin America. The national evemt Connected Smart Cities 2019, which will be held on September 17 and 18, 2019, is in its 5th edition and plays a key role in the development of smart cities in Brazil, through initiatives that foster concrete actions involving governments, companies, entities and national and international experts. The 2018 edition presented a record number of participants and business generation, bringing together more than 2,000 participants, 300 speakers and 90 panels, who performed in 9 simultaneous stages, in addition to having more than 600 rounds of business and support of 70 entities.

According to the creator of the Connected Smart Cities and executive director of Sator, Paula Faria, the 2019 edition will be attended by more city halls and will have a more innovative and dynamic format, through the use of new technologies such as experiences in virtual reality.

“We will have many new features in this edition of Connected Smart Cities, where we can highlight the more structured work focused on the startups of the sector, through the partnership with 100 Open Startups. In 2019, the event will be remodeled in terms of scenography, with new technologies that will make the initiative more innovative, such as virtual reality, for example. In the last edition, we have the physical participation of the city halls of São Paulo, Belo Horizonte, Vitória and Barueri, and in this edition we will have the presence, in the space of the event, of more city halls that have been developing the concept of intelligent cities, besides representatives of municipalities with an interest in the theme and to implant the concept in their cities. Our expectation is to keep all the records achieved in the event in 2018 and also include the new actions we have prepared for the current edition”, she said.

And she also concludes: “Connected Smart Cities has been bringing together different segments of society since 2015 to present and discuss actions focused on the development of Brazilian cities. And the practical results of the work we have done can already be followed in the initiatives of several cities in the country”, says Paula Faria.
